Are you ready for something NEW and EXCITING? Want to perform in front of roaring crowds on football fields, win trophies all over the state, and make incredible memories with friends who’ve become your second family? Whether you're blasting powerful melodies, nailing epic drum cadences, or dancing in the color guard, marching band is where a new level of musical magic happens!
This will be an especially HISTORIC marching season, as we return to our roots as a band made up of 100% Orem High School musicians. It’s been a delightful journey working with Todd Halversen & Kandis Taylor for many, many years while I taught at Orem Junior High. Now I’m eager to carry on their legacy of excellence as we build something uniquely fresh and SPECTACULAR: the Golden Tiger MARCHING Band.
Together we will learn music that challenges each musician, and thrills each audience member. We will sweat profusely under the blazing summer sun, then perform boldly amidst frigid fall temperatures. We will master precision marching techniques, and demonstrate superior execution of music and drill at FIVE state-wide competitions, including the state championship Red Rocks competition in St. George. Participating in the marching band will stretch and challenge you, pushing you to achieve greater musical and physical heights. There will be times when, amidst the fatigue, you will question if it’s “worth it”. But there will be other times when you will KNOW that it IS 100% WORTH IT. Please join us, and let’s make some noise!

Introducing The 2024 OCMB Show
The Titanic was advertised as "unsinkable", but was tragically engulfed in the frigid North Atlantic after colliding with an iceberg during its April, 1912 maiden voyage. The hubris of mankind was put on disastrous display, not only because of the damaged ship hull, but because, as a mark of arrogant over-confidence, a severely insufficient number of life boats were placed onboard for the passengers and crew. While over 1,500 people perished in the massive catastrophe, four brave musicians accepted their likely fate, and calmly played inspiring music on the deck of the sinking ship, beginning with "Nearer, My God To Thee". In honor of these musicians, the final movement of the 2024 OCMB show will feature this hymn, interwoven with "My Heart Will Go On", the hit song from the Academy Award-Winning film "Titanic". Music for the show was composed and arranged by our very own Tucker Smith!
Meet The New OCMB
Drumline Instructor:
Micah Coletti

Mr. Coletti graduated from Timpview High School in Provo, UT, where he played in the drumline and marching band under the direction of Dr. David Fullmer. After marching one summer in the Blue Devils drumline, Mr. Coletti returned as the drumline instructor at Timpview, continuing to work with Dr. Fullmer. Later he served as the drumline instructor at American Fork High School, helping them get to Grand Nationals in 1995 where they placed 14th in the finals. We are so pleased to welcome Mr. Coletti to the Orem City Marching Band family!
